What is your background, training, school, profession, etc?

I am currently a junior in the chemical engineering program at BYU. A little more than a year ago, I got back from a mission in Chile for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints where I learned Spanish.

What do you enjoy doing in your spare time?

I love people, good food, and the mountains. Catch me skiing, trail running, hiking, or climbing for fun or working on something new for my food Instagram @chewsgood. I treasure friendships and connecting with people of all different backgrounds.

Why do you believe Volunteering is important?

I have been so blessed in my life that I want to do what I can to bless the lives of others. When we reach out beyond ourselves, we come out happier and more fulfilled than before.

How long have you been volunteering at CHC?

I was trained last fall, but I started interpreting last December.

Why did you choose to volunteer with CHC?

I believe in CHC’s mission and purpose. It is so important AND FUN!

What do you enjoy most about volunteering?
I love connecting with the people I get to meet and learn new medical terminology. No two appointments are ever the same!

What would you say to others in the community considering volunteering?

DO IT! Your time will be magnified, and you will meet people and have experiences that will shape who you become.
